Our Commitment

Keeping Up is committed to ensuring our service is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

Current Status

We are a small team in active development. Our current accessibility measures include:

  • Semantic HTML structure throughout the application
  • Colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA requirements in most areas
  • Keyboard navigation support for primary dashboard actions
  • Form labels and ARIA attributes on interactive elements
  • Responsive design supporting font size adjustments up to 200%

We acknowledge that not all areas of the application currently meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Our charts and data visualisations, in particular, are areas we are actively improving with text alternatives and accessible colour palettes.

Known Limitations

  • Charts and graphs: Some data visualisations do not yet have full screen reader support. We are adding text summaries alongside all charts.
  • Complex tables: Some data tables may not be fully navigable by screen reader in all configurations.
  • Third-party components: Plaid Link (our bank connection interface) is provided by a third party. Plaid maintains their own accessibility programme.

Technical Specifications

Keeping Up is built with React/Next.js and relies on the following assistive technologies for testing:

  • Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS)
  • Keyboard-only navigation testing
  • Browser zoom to 400% (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)
