How do I connect a bank account?

Walkthrough for linking your bank, brokerage, credit card, and retirement accounts via Plaid. Free tier limit: 2 accounts. Pro: unlimited.

Keeping Up connects to your bank, brokerage, credit card, and retirement accounts via Plaid — the same trusted infrastructure Venmo, Robinhood, and Wealthfront use. Plaid handles your banking credentials directly; Keeping Up never sees them.

To connect an account:

  1. Open Keeping Up and tap Connect a bank on your dashboard (or visit Settings → Connections)
  2. Search for your bank or financial institution
  3. Enter your bank credentials in the Plaid window — your password is sent only to Plaid's servers, then directly to your bank for authentication
  4. If your bank uses multi-factor authentication, complete it in the Plaid flow
  5. Choose which accounts to share with Keeping Up (you can deselect ones you'd rather not include)
  6. Done — accounts begin syncing within 60 seconds

Free tier limits: 2 connected accounts (most users connect their primary checking + credit card). Pro tier: unlimited connections including brokerage, 401(k), HSA, and loan accounts.
